Adding to the Family!

After work on Monday I went to a Dr apt. When I got there I was having some pain in my lower back, but I'd been having that for awhile. The Dr. examined me and said I was 4cm and then asked me if I was having a contraction. I was in a lot of pain so I guess I was. It made me nervous when he said, "You're in labor, and you're having this baby tonight." He sent me straight to the hospital, and Brigham met me there with my bag that I had thought to pack that morning before leaving for work. I checked in, and after laboring for awhile I finally got my epideral, which was a life-saver. The last hour with the epideral seemed like the easy part compared to the few hours before without one. It all went so fast! From the time of the dr apt til the time I gave birth it was a little under 6 hours. It's all a little bit of a blur because it went so fast, but I still remember how happy I was to see my baby for the first time placed on my belly!

Our family has a new member in it:

Well here she is! Isn't she adorable! We don't have her named yet, but we will soon. She's got such a sweet personality and a little whimper instead of a loud screaming cry...for now at least. She was born at 8:21pm, weighed in at 7.7lbs and 20 inches long. I weighed in at ...just joking, like I would tell everyone that!

Baby's on her way?

Here's a little up-date on what's going on with the baby and when we think she'll be here. The Dr. says I'm showing signs of delivering soon. Some of the ladies at work have said that I've dropped, others say that I haven't. I don't think I've dropped because I still can't breath. Brig and I think probably within the next week or so we'll have our baby. I've been sleeping as much as I can lately because I know that when the baby gets here I won't be getting much or any. For all who are wondering what this baby is going to be named...well we don't know either! We want to see her first and then decide. So I guess we'll let you know by the time we leave the hospital. The list is now down to 50 names, so I guess we'll have lots to talk about at the hospital.

Showered with Gifts

Last Saturday my Mother-in-law and Sisters-in-law threw me a shower too. Since I'm decorating the baby's space with a Ladybug theme they all got together and got me the crib set to make that happen. That was really nice. I even had a really cute ladybug cake and cupcakes! I also got a ton of cute little clothes. Thank you Sowards sisters-in-law and Mom for the gifts you sent threw the mail. It was a huge surprize, and great to have you all there in spirit. We did play one game. Everyone guessed how many tiolet paper squares around I was...I was 16 if any of you want to try it out. Other then that the shower wasn't the typical baby shower with a lot of cheesey games, the ladies at the shower put together meals that can be frozen and then thawed and cooked later for when I have the baby and don't feel like cooking. I was thinking that we should have done this at my bridal shower too because I haven't ever really felt like cooking!! HAHA. Just kiding, I really do appriciate the meals, it was a great idea!

School Baby Shower

I had a shower at work with all the ladies at my school. Grade levels got together and got me some much needed equipment for the baby. There was another pregnant teacher that was supposed to be there too, but her baby a little early, so she wasn't able to make it. It was a little awkward being the center of attention with everyone staring at me, but I got some really nice gifts so it was all worth it. The ladies at my school are all so nice to me and they've all been really helpful now that I'm not as capable as I was even just a few months ago. My principal has also given me exclusive permission to wear flip flops because my swollen feet won't fit inside my other shoes anymore.

I must be KID-ing!!!

I feel like I'm about to POP! My doctor says that I'm measuring just right, so I hope that he's meaning just right for an average size baby and not a toddler. I'm feeling really good though. I only get uncomfortable when I have to sit-up straight for a long time because the baby really likes to snuggle her bum up to my ribs. Only about a month away and we are both really excited!! The slide show proves how much I've grown.
