Christmas Day with the Dunn Family

Christmas Morning we got up and ate breakfast with the family and then opened gifts. It wasn't the relaxing gift opening process that I remember growing up, it was a far from it actually. I felt more like starving animals finally getting food, but I guess it's hard to have a relaxing time with SO many people. Nobody really took turns, we were lucky to see the person we shopped for open his/her gift. With at least 20 people there that morning the gifts were unwrapped in about 30 minutes...amazing! Anyway, after the hurricane of unwrapping gifts, the kids went outside to play with their toys, others went to eat more breakfast, and finally there was a place on the couch to sit and relax!

We opened our gifts later that afternoon and into the night. Not that we had a lot to open, but we thought it would be fun to space out opening the few gifts that we did have. This year for my family's Christmas everyone drew names and then set out to make something homemade for the one that we had. Well I think I was the luckiest this year because Cody and Abe drew our names. Cody worked long and hard on an amazing wall hanging representing "Building Your Eternal Home" a talk given by Thomas S. Monson(see 'Favorite Links' to read the talk). Cody your gift really was built with care and sewn with love...Thanks again Cody(and Abe), it will be cherished forever! I got Brigham an Astros outfit, not for him to wear, but for the baby to wear when he takes her to baseball games this season. Dad gave me a beautiful necklace from the cruise he went on with mom in November. I love it, thanks Dad. I got the game Candyland and Cranium-Turbo edition, and we both gave each other a few DVDs.

The rest of the Christmas week has been relaxing. I've been able to take a nap everyday, and just hangout. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Eve at Grandma Mandy's

On Christmas Eve the whole Dunn family went to Grandma Mandy's house to have dinner, open gifts and play games. There were over twenty people all hanging out in a good sized room, which felt surprizingly small because of all chaos. I guess without all the family there it wouldn't have been as fun!

Locked Out

Saturday the Friendswood fire department drove the fire truck around with Santa and threw out candy to kids in neighborhoods. Well, I had never seen it, and so we went for a drive to find were it was and get some candy. We found the neighborhood, parked, got out and walked over to stand in front of a house. We had both just gotten up, I was still in my Pjs, hair-up and no make-up, Brig was dressed, but we both pretty much looked like we had just rolled out of bed(which we had). The Fire Truck came, threw some candy to the kids standing by us, we waved, they waved and it was over. So we started walking back to the car. When we got close, we realized that in all the excitement the keys got locked in the car, neither of us had our phones and I had left me keys at the apartment. Well, we weren't very far from home (only about a mile or two) so we decided we'd walk back. On our way we stopped at a gas station to get something to drink for our long walk ahead.(see pic) The walk took about an hour and a half. I felt really weird walking around pregnant in my Pjs, but after going through a few neighborhoods, through some swampy grass and under a fence, we were back home. I was ready for a nap.

Christmas Cheer!

We got our Christmas Tree up and it makes our whole place look really Christmas-y. Now if only the weather would cooperate with the time of year, it would really feel like Christmas time!

Becoming a Blogger

Well I've given into peer pressure to start this blog. Thanks to Courtney and a couple of my sisters in-law... I've decided to give it a try. I hope all of you enjoy the future entries that I post.
