All You Can "Jet Blue" Pass

Jet Blue Airlines is running a special from Sept. 7th to October 6th where you buy one Airline ticket for a very reasonable price and you get to fly anywhere Jet Blue flies, anytime you want for that month. So, being the wonderful wife that I am, I have let Brigham take advantage of this opportunity to travel with his brother Adam. So far they have gone to Puerto Rico and this next week they are going to California to be on the Price is Right! We are thinking of t-shirt ideas....any suggestions? They also plan to go to New York and maybe back to Puerto Rico to visit more islands they didn't get to go to the first time. So far I have been fine at home alone. I do miss Brig's company and the way he helps with the girls but I'm glad he's having fun!

Sam's Wedding

My little brother got married a few weeks ago, Yay for Sam and welcome to the family Laura. I know this post is a bit late, but I figured I needed to mention the wedding and my near death experience, since this blog is sort of a family journal.
The wedding was in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Temple. On our way there the van we were riding in had a problem with the tire. This is what happened, we were driving along the highway at 70mph, and all of a sudden the van starts to swerve all over the road. Luckily my mom was able to stay calm and guide the 15 passenger van to safety. Turns out that the tread had come off the tire, but the tube was still inflated. I am certain that if it would have been a true blow out, the van would have rolled and some, if not all of us would have been killed. There was no spare, so we had to wait and hour and a half in the hot New Mexico desert for help. When we finally got back on the road we raced as fast as we could to make it for the wedding, but because of scheduling issues the wedding couldn't be delayed. My mom was able to catch a ride with my oldest brother Jesse and his family. So me and my family and my sister Mel and her family missed the wedding. I was heart-broken about it because Sam was my only sibling that I could have seen get married, but oh well. I guess that's what happens when weddings are on Friday the 13th. We arrived just as the beautiful bride and groom were coming out of the temple. At least we were able to enjoy the reception that evening. The decorations were so classy! Laura's colors were hot pink, black and white. We drove back to my parent's house that night and the next day we set up for the Las Cruces reception. I made the groom's cake, and Cody my sister-in-law made the wedding cake. Both cakes had a hard time in the heat, but they turned out looking great. So the weekend was a memorable experience, and I can assure you that I will not be traveling or leaving the house on the next Friday the 13th.

5th Wedding Anniversary

A few weeks ago Brig and I had our 5th wedding anniversary. To celebrate we went to Las Vegas. We stayed in the Hotel Paris and the Venetian. While we were there it just happened to be the hottest week of the year so the temperature was 112 on a couple of the days and it luckily cooled to 109 on the third day. Even at night it was at least 100 degrees outside! It was miserable walking outside, but after the 1st day I got a little more used to it and we were able to walk to other hotels to see and atrium in the Belagio and a little zoo in the Mirage. Brig's brother Adam came along too. We were thinking he could babysit, but it took almost the whole trip from Whitney to warm up to him, and Brooke cried almost everytime he held her. So, Brig and Adam ended up walking around at night together while I put the girls to bed.

Bath time with my Girls

Bath time is always fun, but tonight it was especially fun because Brooke is finally able to sit up in the water. Until now she was in a reclined bath seat. So bath time was pretty short for Brooke because she would get bored, and Whitney would be left to play by herself. Tonight they played happily together for about 45 minutes. Whitney splashed and talked while Brooke laughed and laughed(oh...and chewed on everything too!).

Brooke's Blessing

On Sunday we were finally able to bless Brooke. Yes, I know she is almost eight months old, but time just slipped away from us and before we knew it, she wasn't just a few months old anymore. I was afraid that she would grab at the mic or cry, but she did great...no grabbing or crying, she just laid there and kicked the whole time. Brig's parents and his brother Adam came all the way from Texas to be here for it. After church we grilled Kabobs with the family. I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters who I love very much!!
